What a delightful pub for a Sunday carvery. We've driven past this pub regularly for about 8 years and today decided to stop on the off chance of some food. The blonde, slim, tall young lady who served us was brilliant. Very attentive and pleasant. The food was very good and it was an all round very nice pub experience. Will visit again soon.

Went to The Bell a few days ago to celebrate a friend’s early 60th Birthday. The staff were fantastic, they put up a banner & added some balloons to the 1 we brought ourselves. The food was delicious, the atmosphere friendly & cozy, the staff very helpful & professional. Would definitely recommend

My 6-year-old sisters need to use the bathroom on a long trip, we asked permission from the staff who had no problem but the manager forced us to use the bathroom, pointing out that it was not a public bathroom. The lack of humanity of this manager. She wasn't able to make a decision other than thinking about her own benefit even though they were just a couple of girls.

We stayed 5mins from this pub and visited on our first night in the area.
Food was nice, but quite pricey for what you get.
Drinks were expensive, £2 for a small lime and soda and £6 for a pint of thatchers.
Staff were friendly and service was quick.
We sat inside but the outdoor area looked lovely, would be great if visiting with kids.
Lots of parking.
Dog friendly.

On holiday and was told food was good . We ordered cod and chips and the southern fried chicken burger. The cod was so thin and approx 60% batter at a cost £15.45 and the burger was hard at a cost of £15.65. . Should of gone to kfc and the local chip shop . We had two dogs with us and not even a offer of water for them on one of the hottest days and no one came out to ask if the food was ok . Avoid this pub for food as we will now .

The Bell is a country pub on the outskirts of Warminster north of it in a village called Standerwick. It is a quaint country pub just off the A36. Plenty of parking was available in a well lit car park.
The pub recently has undergone new management. Entering the pub, you cannot hear any of the noise outside and we was greeted promptly by the host. A nice warm atmosphere inside was waiting. We were shown to the table and provided menus accordingly. The host also let us know what the special dish of the day was and items that were not available before ordering. The pub was clean and tidy throughout and had a modern look to it. The pub has a carvery deck on Sundays and offers a main menu the rest of the week.
All the food we had today was excellent quality. They were well presented on the plates and there was a good portion size for the price paid. I feel that the desserts are overpriced and the waffle and pie were a little soggy and stodgy at times. It had the appearance and temperature that they had been microwaved through so was piping hot when we had received it. I loved the use of the star plate for the cherry bakewell pudding. The steak was cooked rare to perfection. The chicken schnitzel was lightly battered and rich in flavour. The mushroom linguini also had plenty of mushrooms and wholesomeness to it.
In terms of service, staff were very attentive but did forget to bring my guests drink when we had ordered it 15 minutes prior so we had to remind the team to get their order. The team were all friendly in their manner however.
The toilets for the females were refurbished and modern on one end but out of order at the bar end. The male toilets were dated and not that well lit given there is no lighting where the urinals were. The window was open here so it was very cold.
Overall I would give it a 8/10 and would visit and consider recommending this pub given the minor issues we came across today. Overal it was good value for money.

Great local country pub, with home-cooked food. Staff are very friendly and food was lovely. So glad I stumbled onto this place when staying close-by for a holiday.

Really lovely meal out as part of our holiday. My partner and I enjoyed the food here, especially their lovely desserts! Lots of choices of drinks too. Lots of outside and inside seating although it seemed very quiet when we ate on a weekday evening. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend.

A ray of sunlight on a rainy day off the A36 on the way to Warminster. Sunday lunch at short notice, with 2 small dogs the staff bent over backwards to help. It was carvery day and self service on the veg. I ended up with a very large plate of good quality food, a pudding and a drink all for £20. The atmosphere was good and I was greeted by the most amazing smile I've seen for a long time. Only small niggle, but if you're tucked around the corner and it's busy, you may have to chase to pay your bill!
